We had an interesting flight companion on the way home.
another day out with mashdad involved:
-oatmeal flapjacks (with bonus mayor sighting)
-a dizzying amount of table linens (ever been to a party rental showroom?)
-buying malt at northern brewer
-hotel ducks
-snotty cooking store (at least everything was on sale!)
-stone cold chowder :(
-subversive cross-stitch books
-being chased by a st. paul central librarian
-trying on 25 pairs of pants
-bird seed
-indian food
tomorrow, i cook.

I’ve seen so many different types of cutesy pillows cross my dashboard, but this? THIS is a pillow concept I can get behind.
Edamame body pillow. I love this more than a person like you could understand.
I found myself in Edina this evening and ended up chatting with this man for a little bit. It turns out he lived down the street from where I attended elementary school! What a strange, small world we live in. We talked about the merits of kesong puti and our favorite Filipino dishes. And by the way, he sells some seriously amazing truffle gouda and herbed chevre.
I love finding old booklets like this at antique stores. This one is entitled “Bananas…how to serve them” from the Fruit Dispatch Company, New York, 1950. It comes complete with banana mascot and recipes for banana meatloaf, ham banana rolls and banana prune whip.
